BE STILL – by George James Mayer, completed by Alan John Mayer, artwork by George James Mayer
Be still sad heart, and cease your repines
Behind the clouds the sun still shines.
Thy fate is the common fate of all
Into every life due rain must fall
And though some days be dark and dreary,
Receive the Holy Spirit,
and see life more clearly.
Brolly is a British word for umbrella. Here, my father’s unfinished, untitled original:
Be still, sad heart, and cease repining,
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining,
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into every life some rain must fall.
Some days be dark and dreary.
