I thought this was so funny, I may have written it into a scene in one of my books.
Carol Burnett told the story of her five year-old daughter having done something wrong. Carol explained to her why it was wrong, and how she could have been hurt “Do you understand what I am saying, sweetheart?” she asked. Her daughter nodded. “Is there anything you want to ask me?” Her daughter nodded. “What is it, sweetheart?”
“How many teef you got?”

Many years ago, Carol and her husband, Joe Hamilton, had reprimanded their late daughter, Carrie Hamilton, for telling a fib. She had been sent to her bedroom and was pouting on her bed. After some time, Carol went into Carrie’s bedroom to comfort her. As she sat down on her daughter’s bed, she began to explain:
“Carrie, sweetheart, your father and I love you very much, and we will always love you, no matter what. We just don’t like it when you tell fibs because we want you to grow up to be a fine young lady and fine young ladies don’t fib. Honey, your father and I want you to know that you can come to us with any problem, any concern, any time.”
