Mothers Day Comes But Once A Year

Mothers Day Comes But Once A Year

Raised in a castle on a lake patrolled by white swans,
dropped off at school by a chauffeur wearing white gloves,
a lost youth, a youth lost, growing up in the shadows of insanity,
without any teaching of respect for human rights.

Pulled out of a bomb shelter hungry, frazzled, unwashed,
By a Savior who made it his life’s mission to return sanity,
First in the beauty parlor, then on the beach.
A demi-god, who provided, through marriage, a new lease on life.
A new life, a new identity, among the free and the brave,
an ocean away.

He, who for ten years brought life back to the lake,
in castles on the Mediterranean – living across from sandy beaches.
The 60’s He brought about a return to the Vaterland, becoming of age,
still healing from the fresh scars of persecution,
lawlessness, betrayal, lies, and guilt.

Back in the land of the free and the brave,
in a new castle atop a Mile High pedestal
every day for over half a century, came the encouragement to shine.
To command, not only His castle, His empire, but He, to command the King himself,
as well as to continue post-humous reign over His only begotten son,
imposing enless lessons of loss, humility, pain, despair, and homelessness.

Through inheritance, there has existed over a lifetime
a reign of trauma that has revealed the uncaring,
inhumane values learned of youth –
in an unloving, unforgiving, fascist Germany,
a people forlorn, a nation and a House left smoldering in bombed out ruins,
divided in half between Herself, and Her brother next door.
At war with one another for a generation, determined never again to speak.

Until one day, The Wall came down, and the Curtain fell.
Nearly a quarter of a century later, The Wall now lives in a museum; dead,
with a large section still dividing Mummy’s living room.
The barbed wire was smelted into Euros long ago,
Time has passed through the hands of millions in peace,
as a country, a great nation heals. The people follow. Out of the ashes and runis,
a grand city has risen to shine once again –
in the light of a new Millennium, lit once again by God above,
as the annual Mr. Leather contest jumps into high gear.

This Berlin, this is the life of my Mother.
May this light touch and bless us all as Mothers’ Day approaches.
as I think of you, and move forward in awareness of my purpose here.

I am working on this. Open to suggestions. Any poets out there into rhyming?

And now our treatment:
There is one life.
This life is God.
This life is perfect.
This life is my life now.
I speak my word for everyone who wishes to hear, knowing the Universe supports all to shine. I know I can heal from any incident I have allowed to hold me back. I know, sometimes it is necessary to go back, to move forward.
I accept my word is divine cause. I am the captain of my own ship. I give thanks for this knowledge. I release right thought, right word, right action, knowing it is so, because I say so.
And so it is.
